Thanks to Scotty and Tony!!!!

The South Texas folks held a technical get together on February 21 at
Sport & Classic Car Company, Scotty MacClymonds' British car garage in north Houston.
This was a charity event in support of multiple sclerosis,
raising more than $600 for this important cause.

Scotty and senior mechanic Tony Lucci provided lots of good advice on how
to cure some of those nagging problems. We also got to see what our cars
look like underneath; for most of us, it was not a pretty sight!

Tony provided a demonstration on how to install the new electronic ignition
modules inside the distributors of the 6 and 8 cylinder cars. These electronic
marvels can improve starting and make the engines run smoother and more
powerfully. Yet they are virtually undetectable to anyone looking under the bonnet.

Dave Galvan's Silver Cloud I and the region's SU carb calibration instruments were
used to demonstrate SU calibration and adjustment. (The good news is that
Dave now knows which carb needs a little cleaning.) It was a good reminder
that special tools are available to borrow from the club.

There were 19 members present, including distance winners Rick Davis
(who drove 300 miles from Edinburg, TX) and
Richard Taylor and his son Byron
( who drove from Mason, TX, 100 miles west of Austin).

We "caravanned" to dinner afterwards at Pappas Seafood House and as
usual most of us ate too much. A great time was had by all. We wish to
sincerely express our appreciation to Scotty and Tony for hosting the event
and providing the opportunity for us to get together and play in a real shop.
This was a great event on a gorgeous "spring" day in a perfect setting --
good for car talk, camaraderie and consultation!

the finer point of the greasy side. Where to attached the wings.

Ohooo. Not the pretty side.

Is oxidation an official RR colour?

Definitely the dark side of the Force.

Oh no! John finds another reason to check the S2 into the MacClymonds' Clinic.

What is this? A clean under carriage?

The judges concur. It's not fair! This is not a dirty side!
